Last week, the MedEarth team packed another impressive 10m³ truckload of essential medical equipment and supplies, ready to begin its journey to communities in need.
The shipment included Ferno stretchers, a ventilator, mobility aids, injury support products, first aid kits, and a range of other vital medical items. These supplies will soon be added to a shipping container organised by Carers of Africa, which will depart from Melbourne and make its way to Zambia.
At MedEarth, our mission is about more than improving access to healthcare — it’s also about protecting the environment. By rescuing and redistributing usable medical equipment, we reduce unnecessary waste while helping healthcare providers deliver life-saving care. With this packing effort alone, we have diverted nearly 600kg of valuable medical supplies from landfill.
A special thank you to Bright from Carers of Africa and Beauty for coming to the warehouse and helping us pack the truck. Your support and dedication make a meaningful difference.
We are also incredibly grateful to the organisations and teams who donated equipment and supplies to make this shipment possible, including:
- GoMed Victoria
- Korthotics
- Terumo Australia
- St Vincent’s Environmental Services
- Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick
- Royal North Shore Hospital
- SCH Randwick Physiotherapy Department
- Confluence Water
…and many others who continue to support MedEarth’s mission.
Together, we are helping turn surplus medical equipment into life-saving resources for communities that need them most.
